Kristina Mueller Designs is a jewelry business based in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, run by me--Kristina!
I’ve spent most of my life in the Adirondacks which has greatly shaped me into who I am today. Growing up on Lake George left me with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my deep connection to that body of water and the surrounding Adirondack Mountains. A connection that ingrained in me the value of the beauty of Mother Earth, a value that later guided me from Lake George to the High Peaks Region of the Adirondacks-- where man has only lightly grazed and the beauty of nature is even a bit more amplified.
Being an artist is primal to who I am. I can reflect upon it now; I didn't choose to be an artist, I simply chose to accept and embrace it.
It was at the point in my life when I opened my mind up to the idea of pursuing my art as my profession that my direction really started to make sense for me.
That time came when I serendipitously discovered North Bennet Street School, a distinguished trade school in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2011, I completed their two-year intensive jewelry making program that provided me with a strong technical foundation and the knowledge of how to go about building high quality jewelry. That foundation is at the core of who I am as a creator and the work that you see here today.
For me creating jewelry is about so much more than just making something pretty. My designs are conceptually driven and stem from my values, emotions, life experiences, and a deep desire for self expansion and discovery.
On the surface I make jewelry. But what I really do is share a piece of myself; my values, my soul, my struggles and wisdom, my desires, my energy. Metal and stone are what I use to translate who I am into something tangible.
